1) Can I issue a POA entirely in English?
You can sign in English abroad, but Turkish authorities typically require a Turkish translation notarized in Turkey. We provide bilingual drafts to avoid inconsistencies.
2) Does the POA need an apostille?
Only if signed outside Turkey (and your country is an apostille member). If not, use consular legalization. If you sign in Alanya at a notary, no apostille is needed.
3) Can one POA cover Tapu, bank and court?
Yes, but we advise separate or tightly limited POAs for security and easier revocation.
4) How long is a POA valid?
Until revoked or expired per your clause. Some institutions prefer recent POAs—ask us for the right validity.
5) What if details are wrong (e.g., parcel number)?

Yes. Foreign individuals and companies can execute a special Power of Attorney at any Turkish Consulate abroad or before a notary public in their home country with an Apostille certificate under the 1961 Hague Convention, allowing Attorney Enes Nergiz (Antalya Bar Association No. 6281) to handle title deed transfers, court filings, and administrative appeals without the client traveling to Turkey.
Under Article 706 of the Turkish Civil Code and Article 237 of the Turkish Code of Obligations, contracts transferring real estate ownership are only legally valid if executed officially before the Land Registry Directorate (Tapu) or as a notarized promise-to-sell agreement. However, payments made under informal contracts can be recovered through restitution and unjust enrichment claims.
Under Articles 50–59 of Law No. 5718 (MÖHUK), a final foreign court decree must undergo a Recognition (Tanıma) or Enforcement (Tenfiz) proceeding before a Turkish Family Court (or civil registration for uncontested divorces meeting statutory criteria) before Turkish registries update marital status or enforce custody/alimony orders.
